Better together

Life is funny. You grow up learning how and what you’re supposed to do from the people around you. Maybe you go to church. Maybe you don’t. Maybe you’re good at school— maybe not. You learn about what life is “supposed to look like” from those people as well. Should you go to college? Get married? Have kids? Work a typical 9-5 or create your own business?

Often, we move through life based on someone else’s expectations of us. The path we choose at the crossroads determines the fine details, and later choices or circumstances allow for a detour, but many of us live a life fulfilling someone else’s expectations of us.

Many of us live a life of “have to” instead of “get to.” I wonder how many people dreamed of doing something different with their lives. How many people thought they knew what they wanted to be when they grew up but discovered in the middle of it all that they chose wrong? Or, like us, how many lived the life of their dreams but had a chance to start over in mid-life?

In 2022, Lea and I took a chance. We both signed publishing contracts to write our stories with a new hybrid publisher. We didn’t know one another… we didn’t even follow each other on social media. We met at a writers’ conference a month later and established a friendship over several months of online cohort work. We stay in touch with a dozen or so from our group via text, and we gather with other women in our group once a week to ask questions, talk, and pray.

Our perfect lives look very different.
Lea is a busy wife, a mom to five, a loving daughter, and a grief coach. She’s young, vibrant, and fun!
I’m a wife, an empty-nester with two married sons, and a semi-retired wellness coach. When I get a chance, I travel and chase after my grandsons. I’m a little older, but I still try to have fun!

Through our chance meeting and our love of books, writers, helping others we daydreamed about “someday”— that infamous day when our books were out in the world and we could focus our attention on others.

Recently, someday became now, and we’re happy to announce Writer-to-Writer to the world! Our goal is to help writers and authors get their words on the page without fear and release them into the world without tears.

We’re a team, so when you sign up with one, you might also get the other because we know we’re better together.

We’d love to work with you.
